Haslucks Green Road closed until Friday 28th April 2017

Haslucks Green Road will be CLOSED from today (20/02/2017) until Friday 28th April 2017 for bridge replacement works.

The bridge which is over 100 years old has reached it’s end of life and there for it needs to be replaced in two phases, this one being the final phase.

A spokesperson for Network Rail said: “The road bridge at near Shirley station has come to the end of its useful life so requites replacement which is scheduled to be completed at the end of April 2017.”

“The new bridge will last 120 years and will require less future maintenance.”

“We understand that there will be an impact onto road users and we have worked closely with the local highways and bus operator to ensure that the work causes as little impact as possible.”

During the work bus services will be diverted but the number 3 and 49 bus will sill serve the station but both will be a single deck service only.

  • Service 3 from Birmingham city centre – Will be diverted via Priory Road, Colebrook Road onto Haslucks Green Road to continue normal line of route.
  • Service 3 to Birmingham city centre – Will be diverted via Haslucks Green Road, Colebrook Road onto Priory Road to continue normal line of route.
  • Service 49 to Solihull – Will be diverted via High Street, Colebrook Road onto Haslucks Green Road to continue normal line of route.
  • Service 49 from Solihull – Will be diverted via Haslucks Green Road, Colebrook Road onto High Street to continue normal line of route.
  • Service 863 to Light Hall School – Will be diverted via High Street, Colebrook Road, Priory Road, Highfield Road, Robin Hood Lane, Stratford Road, Church Road, Bill Lane onto Shakespeare Drive to continue normal line of route.
  • Service 863 from Light Hall School – Shakespeare Drive, Bills Lane, Church Road, Stratford Road, Robin Hood Lane, Highfield Road, Priory Road, Colebrook Road onto High Street to continue normal line of route.
