Age UK Calls On Local Residents To Volunteer A Helping Hand

Age UK Birmingham is urging people in the local area to offer a helping hand and become a volunteer for its trading team.

Throughout the year Age UK Birmingham hold various events to help older people in the local area find out more about a wide range of topics from energy saving advice and general insurance to personal alarms and funeral planning.

Trading volunteers are greatly needed to help with local trading events such as supporting talks at sheltered housing premises about Personal Alarms or handing out helpful materials about our range of products, such as home, car and travel insurance at a shopping centre.

Full training will be given to trading volunteers in order to equip them with the background they need to be able to talk to older people about what products and services Age UK Birmingham offers.

Iain Ledgerwood, Trading Manager of Age UK Birmingham, said: “Volunteers are so important to us and make a massive difference in the services we are able to provide in the Birmingham area. As volunteers are so valuable to us we are always looking for more. We have a packed schedule for the rest of the year of events and awareness days so now is a great time for local residents to find out more about getting involved and becoming a volunteer.”

If you’d like to become a volunteer for Age UK Birmingham please visit 55 Alcester Road, Kings Heath, B14 7JG, or 7 Hassop Road, B42 2SL or call 0800 508 8325.
