Police are appealing for information after a man had his car stolen during a robbery in Druids Heath on Sunday 13 August.
The man was driving along Bells Lane towards the junction with Clandon Close at around 7.50pm when the road was blocked by a black Mazda 1.
A motorbike with two men on board stopped next to the victim’s grey Seat Leon. One of the men used a hammer to smash the driver’s side window. The driver was struck on the head with the hammer then dragged out of his car and thrown into the road.
The men then jumped into the driver and passenger seats and drove the car at speed down Bells Lane in the direction of the Maypole.
The four suspects have been described as Asian. The rider of the motorbike was wearing a black balaclava, light grey top, light blue jeans and black trainers. The passenger was wearing a black balaclava, dark green top, black tracksuit bottoms with white stripes down the side and black and white trainers.
PC Paul Jauncey from Force CID, said: “This was a nasty incident that was very distressing for the victim. The suspects left him injured in the road, and it is sheer luck he was not struck by a passing car.
“We do not underestimate the impact this type of crime has on people and we would like to reassure the public that we will leave no stone unturned to find those responsible.”
