A man has this morning been arrested by detectives investigating a serious assault on a woman in a Stirchley car park on Monday.
Leon Harrison, aged 33, from Kings Heath handed himself in at a Birmingham police station at around 10.30am.
Officers continue to investigate the stabbing of a 31-year-old woman which happened on Pershore Road at around 2pm on Monday 1 July.
The mum-to-be who is in the early stages of pregnancy was taken to hospital with multiple stab wounds. She underwent surgery and remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital.
Despite news of the arrest, officers are still keen to speak to the driver of a blue Renault vehicle who was leaving the car park as the attack happened.
Detective Inspector Justin Spanner, from Force CID, said: “We would like to thank people for sharing the wanted appeal, your help has made all the difference. We will continue to investigate the circumstances around the incident and continue to appeal for information.”
