Man stabbed outside McDonalds in Yardley Wood

West Midlands Police have launched an investigation after a man was stabbed in Yardley Wood this afternoon (27/01).

The 22-year-old was attacked just before 3.20pm outside McDonalds on School Road.

He sustained a single stab wound to the arm and was taken to hospital, his injury is not believed to be life-threatening.

The restaurant was closed for several hours while forensic investigations took place. Officers have also collected CCTV footage and spoken to a number of witnesses.

Police patrols have been increased in the surrounding area to provide reassurance to residents this evening.

At present no arrests have been made, but officers are confident those in the local community know who is responsible, and are urging anyone with information to get in touch.
