A man has suffered serious leg injuries following an incident at a golf course in Brandwood this lunch time.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Cocks Moors Woods Golf Course at around 11.40am to reports of a man that had been injured.
A rapid response vehicle, an ambulance, a paramedic officer and the Trusts Hazardous Area Response Team attended the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “The rapid response vehicle paramedic attended the scene and was escorted to the 12th tee of the golf course where the incident occurred.
“The paramedic found a man who had been cutting down trees at the course as part of maintenance who had suffered a serious leg injury. It is believed a large tree branch, which was around 2ft in diameter, had fallen on the man’s leg.
“The man, believed to be in his late 20’s, received emergency treatment at the scene including pain relief.
“Due to the patient being some way away from a road and inaccessible by a normal ambulance the Trust HART team attended and used a polaris 6×6 vehicle to transport the man back to the car park to the awaiting land ambulance. The man was then transferred to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further emergency treatment.”
