MP Steve McCabe Visits Local Printer LG Davis

Steve McCabe MP, Birmingham Selly Oak, dropped in to local business LG Davis,Warstock Road, to pick up his Christmas card and have a chat with Managers and staff about the different parts of the business.

He runs an annual Christmas card competition with local primary schools in his constituency and is delighted to have local businesses like LG Davis and Oulsnam andDavidsons Solicitors, who sponsored the competition, involved in the project.

LG Davis is a family business set up over 50 years ago and is now run by Liz Smith. The business has expanded over the years; first starting in a flat above a shop and now based on Warstock Road boasting an impressive factory and business space. LG Davis employs 39 people and has recently acquired a new site in Loughborough.

Business has been tough over the last few years but LG Davis have been resilient and have survived by diversifying and continuing to produce high quality products and offering great customer service. Services range from large public sector contracts to much smaller jobs like producing Steve’s Christmas card. Their decision to branch out into new markets and willingness to go the extra mile for their customers has made sure LG Davis has stayed open for business and continue to thrive.

Steve McCabe met with Liz Smith, Managing Director, and Marcus Bowen, Sales and Marketing Director, to talk business and for a tour around their warehouse and offices.

Steve said: “It was great to meet Liz and Marcus, it was really interesting to hear about their story and look round the factory which was very impressive. Small businesses have struggled to keep their heads above water over recent years but LG Davis have survived where many haven’t by diversifying their services with their can-do attitude and even poaching work from China!

“I always like to support local businesses in my constituency and LG Davis does such a brilliant job of producing my Christmas card each year it makes it a no-brainer not to use them!”
