National Express West Midlands charity zombie bus returns to the streets of Birmingham

National Express West Midlands will be haunting the streets of Birmingham city centre with a special zombie bus service this Halloween.

The Ghoulsville 666 service via Hell and Back is FREE to board and will operate every 30 minutes on the evenings of Wednesday 30 October and Thursday 31 October.

Those brave enough to board are asked for a small donation in aid of CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people.

Staff at National Express West Midlands Birmingham Central depot in Digbeth chose CLIC Sargent as the depot’s charity partner earlier this year and have been hell-bent on raising as much money as possible to support the charity.

Cara Higgs, UK Community Engagement Manager at National Express, said: “We are very proud to have CLIC Sargent as one of our garage’s charity partners this year. They work tirelessly to support young cancer patients and their families, so we’re hoping that the zombie bus attracts all those brave souls who dare to join us on the 666 service and help us to raise much needed funds for this fantastic charity.”

Elaine Griffin, Fundraising Engagement Manager at CLIC Sargent, said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be working with National Express West Midlands and cannot wait to get on the zombie bus on the 30th and 31st of October, helping to raise vital awareness and funds for children and young people with cancer.

“CLIC Sargent currently supports over 430 families from across the West Midlands and the money raised on the 666 to Ghoulsville will make a HUGE difference. Come and say boo if you think you’re brave enough!”

In 2016, which was the last time the #BrumZombieBus was used, passengers helped to raise over £200 for charity. But National Express West Midlands is hoping to scare up a whole lot more this year.

Starting at 17:00 from Selfridges, the 666 zombie bus will stop at The Square Peg, Colmore Row, Lloyd House, Dale End, New Street Station and the Markets before going back to Selfridges. The last service will finish at Selfridges around 21:00. The timetable for the service can be found by clicking here.
