Witnesses are being urged to come forward after a man died when his car hit a tree in Bournville this morning (Saturday 30 June).
The 27-year-old driver of the Seat Ibiza suffered serious injuries in Linden Road at just before 3.50am.
He was taken to hospital but sadly died as a result of the injuries he sustained, his family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
The road was closed while initial investigations were carried out but has since re-opened.
PC Mark Crozier, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our sympathies are with the man’s family and we fully appreciate the pain they are going through.
“We are in the early stages of trying to establish how this occurred and are asking for anyone with information to speak to us.
“I would ask for anyone who was in the area around the time of this collision and may have seen or heard anything to make contact with us.”
