Police plea for witnesses after a school boy is knocked off his bike in a hit and run

Police in Kings Heath are asking for witnesses to a non-stop collision in which a 15-year-old lad was injured, to come forward.

The collision took place at 4.10pm on Monday 11 May on Vicarage Road at Abbotts Road and Avenue Road in Kings Heath.

A 15-year-old boy, who was cycling from school in Bartley Green to his home in Moseley, was hit by a car, which knocked him off his bike, causing him to suffer serious injuries to his arm.

The car which hit him, failed to stop.

The lad was helped by the driver of a green coloured VW Sirocco, who stopped and helped the boy home. He was taken to hospital, where he underwent surgery to his arm.

PC Laura Loy from the force’s Collision Investigation Unit, said: “The cyclist suffered serious arm injuries and faces further surgery. I am appealing for anyone who remembers seeing the collision at the junction in May to come forward.”
