Police continue to investigate the deaths of two women who were found in a Kings Heath address on Monday (11 February).
The post mortems have been carried out today (Wednesday) on the two women aged 64 and 95 who have yet to be formally identified. Further tests will be conducted in due course to determine the exact cause of death.
The deaths are still being treated as unexplained although police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the death. Police yesterday ruled out possible carbon monoxide poisoning.
Police and fire crew officers forced entry to the terraced home in Balaclava Road just before 7pm on Monday. DI Pete Dunn from Force CID said: “Neighbours contacted police out of concern that neither woman had been seen for some time, They could see the fire was on through the window but weren’t getting an answer at the door.
“We continue to appeal for anyone who knew their movements, may have seen them within the last week, or who saw anything suspicious in Balaclava Road to contact police on the 101 number.”
