Police name Kings Heath pensioner who died a few days after he was assaulted and robbed in his home

Detectives have named a pensioner who died in hospital days after being found with injuries at his Kings Heath home.

A murder investigation was launched following the death of 69-year-old Robert Morrison, who was a wheelchair user, on Sunday 16 December.

He informed neighbours that he had been assaulted and robbed in his home in Grove Road at around 11.30pm on 10 December.

A postmortem has been conducted and the findings are inconclusive pending further investigation.

Two men, both aged 18, have been charged with robbery and have been remanded in custody ahead of a further court appearance on 16 January 2019.
