Sainsbury’s in Maypole gave teenagers with cancer an egg-stra special treat this Easter, by donating eggs (of the delicious milk chocolate variety) to the Young Persons Unit (YPU) at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.
The tasty Easter treats were donated by generous staff and customers, and were enjoyed by our young patients with cancer who are currently receiving treatment, including James Matthews and Laura Dunn (both pictured above).
Sian Averill, Fundraising Officer at QEHB Charity, said: “We are extremely grateful to staff and customers at Sainsbury’s Maypole for generously donating Easter eggs to our young patients with cancer.
“Battling cancer is difficult for anyone, let alone a teenager who just wants to be out spending time with their friends.
“This kind gesture offered by Sainsbury’s Maypole has made a positive difference to our patients and has improved their time spent at the hospital. Thank you.”
