Intrepid Santa will embark on his own ‘Twelve Days of Christmas’ bringing festive cheer to hundreds of children across South Birmingham next month.
Aided by his ‘elves’ from Moseley Round Table, the red suited Laplander, will be embarking on a nightly tour around the area including Moseley, Kings Heath, Selly Park and Bournville – helping to raise funds for a number of local community groups who are teaming up with Santa and his helpers.
But Santa also has a key date in his diary when he will play an integral role in the Moseley Christmas Lights switch on Thursday December 5th.
Eleven groups will be joining the annual Christmas fundraiser, which has raised close to £8,000 in the past three years for charities and local organisations.
Santa will embark in his journey, which is supported by car giant Jaguar Landrover, on Monday December 2 and continue through to Friday December 14. Week night collections commence at 6pm and weekend collections at 5pm.
The groups joining Santa are Kings Heath-based Birmingham Black Cats Wheelchair Basketball Team, Colmore School PTA, All Saints Youth Project, Kings Heath Primary School, St Pauls Community Development, Bells Farm School, Birmingham Girl Guides, Fastaid, St Edwards RC Primary School, Birmingham NCT and Birmingham PHAB Camps.
This year’s collections are aiming to be more interactive with Santa having his own Twitter feed @moseleysanta and a facebook page – Moseley Santa – where people can post their pictures of Santa on tour and also leave their Christmas present lists.
