Two arrested after disorder on Yardley Wood Road

West Midlands Police have arrested two men in Billesley following reports of disorder on Yardley Wood Road this morning.

Officers were called just before 9.40am to reports of two men in an altercation with a store owner who’d allegedly caught them shoplifting on a number of occasions.

Witnesses contacted police, and officers were immediately dispatched to the location.

The two suspects fled in a grey Ford Focus, but were both detained and arrested on Brentford Road.

The vehicle has been recovered, and the men, aged 30, have been taken into custody. They will be questioned by detectives in due course.

Police remain in the area this afternoon to carry out on-going enquiries including a CCTV trawl, searches and house to house investigations.
