Stirchley: Women suffers head injury after early morning RTC

A women in her early 20’s has been taken to a major trauma centre after she was involved in a collision with a car.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Pershore Road in Stirchley shortly after 3.15am today.

An advanced community paramedic in a rapid response vehicle, an ambulance crew and the Medical Emergency Response Incident Team (MERIT) attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “The woman who is in her late teens had a head injury. Due to the nature of the injury and how close the incident was to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, crews decided to immediately alert the hospital and take her straight there.”

The women remains in hospital in a serious condition.

The road was closed by police and reopened shortly after 8am.
