Concrete blocks installed to protect Swanshurst Park

Published on

Friends of Swanshurst Park have confirmed that Birmingham City Council has now installed concrete blocks at the park to help prevent unauthorised access.

The move follows a series of recent encampments that left behind damage and waste in the park. Local volunteers say the protective measures are a “great outcome” after months of concern.

The Friends group thanked Mike Hinton, Parks Manager at the council, for his support and cooperation in making this possible.

In a statement they said: “We have worked very hard to achieve this extra protection and want to especially thank Mike Hinton for his help. I am sure everyone will agree this is a positive result for the community.”
