Driver carjacked and attacked with machete on Broad Lane

Police have launched an investigation after a man was assaulted with a machete on Broad Lane in Kings Heath and his car was stolen.

The man had parked his car at the side of the road, sometime between 10.30pm and 10.45pm on Friday 6 April, when three men approached and asked him for money.

The men then punched and kicked him to the ground and one of them hit him on the head with an implement that was believed to be a machete. They took the victim’s car keys and stole his black Audi A4 estate car.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries to his head and arm, which were not life-threatening.
