A elderly man was taken to hospital after a serious collision involving a pedestrian and a lorry yesterday evening (13/06).
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Alcester Road South just after 1810 and sent three ambulances, two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma doctor and two critical care paramedics to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman says: “On arrival, crews found an elderly man trapped underneath the lorry.
“Once freed, medics treated him for potentially life changing injuries before he was conveyed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.
“The MERIT trauma doctor travelled on board to provide continuing treatment en route.”
The road was closed until around 2130 whilst an investigation into the collision was arrived out.
