Ozzy Osbourne, the legendary frontman of Black Sabbath and one of rock music’s most influential figures, has died at the age of 76, his family has announced.

In a statement released, they said:
“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family’s privacy at this time.”

Born and raised in Aston, Birmingham, Osbourne never forgot his roots. Often referred to as the “Prince of Darkness,” he was also a proud ambassador for his home city. Throughout his life, he supported local causes, celebrated Birmingham’s music heritage, and was honoured with a star on the city’s Walk of Stars.

Rising to fame in the 1970s with Black Sabbath, Osbourne helped forge the sound of heavy metal, shaping the genre and influencing countless musicians across generations. His distinctive voice, rebellious persona, and enduring solo career earned him fans around the world.
