A prominent site at Maypole has unexpectedly been put up for sale, with a multi-million pound price tag.

The “Maypole Retail Park” and 60-bed hotel, sitting on the busy Maypole island, is being marketed for offers in the region of £6.2 million. The development is anchored by Travelodge, with other tenants including Ladbrokes, Bargain Buys (Poundstretcher) and InHealth, an NHS-funded provider.

The freehold site spans just over an acre and currently generates more than £500,000 a year in rent, with long-term leases in place, making it a significant investment opportunity.

In total, the development provides more than 38,500 sq ft of accommodation, with retail units at ground level and the hotel above. The site also benefits from dedicated parking, servicing areas and EV charging provision.

It is one of the most prominent commercial sites in the Maypole area and the only hotel serving the immediate locality, with steady footfall driven by its position on a key commuter route through south Birmingham.
