Two people have been arrested after officers tracked a car linked to a suspected robbery overnight.

Police said the robbery happened just over the border in the West Mercia police force area shortly after midnight.

A man was reportedly attacked by two people who got into his car, stole from him and then drove off in the vehicle.

West Mercia Police officers identified a car believed to be linked to the incident and tracked it to the Yardley Wood area.

West Midlands Police said its Road Crime Team stopped the car on Moseley Road just after 1am. A search of the vehicle reportedly uncovered a knife and stolen property.

A 24-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of robbery and remain in police custody while enquiries continue.
